POT LUCK, an Elliott Lisbon Mystery

POT LUCK, the 4th Elliott Lisbon Mystery, is out! I’m loving the symmetry of a St. Patrick’s Day book releasing at Christmas, since the last one (Swan Dive) was a Christmas book that released on St. Patrick’s Day. This book also gave me the opportunity to pay homage to my beautiful pug Charlie. Her spirit lives in those two pug puppies, Colonel Mustard and Mrs. White. What fun to write them! They inadvertently stole the show.

Much love and appreciation to industry giant Dru Ann Love for her early praise. “Boasting an eclectic cast of characters, clever and enticing dialogue and the perfect backdrop of the Ballantyne estate and Sea Pine Island, this is one of the best books in this delightfully captivating series.” Hope everyone loves this one as much as I do.

Kings River Life Magazine, on Swan Dive

“The enjoyable worlds of professional dance and cooking elevate this mystery, and Elli is an admirable and engaging heroine. Deft writing and clever dialogue further ensure that readers will be looking forward to the next installment.”

SWAN DIVE, an Elliott Lisbon Mystery by Kendel Lynn

SWAN DIVE, the 3rd Elliott Lisbon Mystery, released on March 17, 2015. And may I say how much I love this one? As a writer, we love all our books and all our words and blah blah blah, but truly, madly, deeply, when I finished Swan Dive, I absolutely loved it and felt it was my strongest. I hope readers enjoy it, too. (And hey, my mother loved it, so obviously it’s good.)

Here’s a lovely review snippet from the lovely Lynn Farris from Examiner.com, saying “While I’ve loved every book in this series, this is my favorite. They just keep getting better.” How kind! Nothing like a little Christmas mystery year-round.

Alfred Hitchock Mystery Magazine, on Whack Job

“A tasty southern mash of star-crossed romance, catty but genteel one-upsmanship, and loveable oddballs that should please fans of humorous cozies.”

Whack Job | book #2

WHACK JOB, the 2nd Elliott Lisbon Mystery, released on May 13, 2014. Yay! Join Elli on her next adventure with the wealthy and the wacky. I had a total fan moment when I received the August 2014 issue of Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, and saw this lovely review:

“The heroine of this wacky series, Elliott Lisbon, is the director of a nonprofit foundation on an island community off the South Carolina coast. Lynn establishes a playful tone with the opening line: “A guy walks into a bar with a satchel full of money in one hand and a banana in the other.” The man with the banana then proceeds to shoot one of the local benefactors. Between searching for a stolen Faberge egg, overseeing a charitable Wonderland Tea Party, and uncovering a sketchy life-insurance scam, Elliott Lisbon pursues romance and a private investigator’s license. The story is lightweight, but the irrepressible heroine is delightful and her ongoing banter is nonstop fun.”

Fresh Fiction, on Board Stiff

“With an intelligent woman sleuth, a unique blend of quirky supporting characters and a well-devised mystery plot, Board Stiff is delightfully entertaining.”

Board Stiff | book #1

Holy moly! BOARD STIFF was nominated for an Agatha Award for Best First Novel! Wowsa. I’m all giddy and honored and tickled and delighted and awed! (you can tell by my use of exclamation points!)

Plus it received some lovely endorsements from bestselling authors Hank Phillippi Ryan, Krista Davis, and CJ Lyons — very excited to receive high praise from such wonderful writers (and fan favorites).

If you need an Elli fix, keep reading below for OTHER PEOPLE’S BAGGAGE, the novella prequel to the Elliott Lisbon Mystery Series, where a luggage mishap gets her into hot water. (And features novellas by two of my personal writerly friends, Diane Vallere and Gigi Pandian.) I think you’ll love these stories!

Library Journal, on Other People’s Baggage

“A cozy triple-scoop that tastes divine…the pleasantly contrasting novellas make it easy to finish off a story in one sitting, plus each novella serves as a prequel to the respective author’s full-length work.”

Other People’s Baggage | three mystery novellas

So excited to announce this very cool novella project I’m involved in: OTHER PEOPLE’S BAGGAGE: Three Interconnected Mystery Novellas, along with my two writer friends Diane Vallere and Gigi Pandian. All three of our novellas are prequels to novels featuring our series characters.

It released on December 3, 2012 from Henery Press, in both print and ebook – yay! Pop over to my books page to read the teaser. I hope it’s as much fun to read as it was to write. We’re hosted two launch parties with signings and airline cocktails, in-flight snacks, giveaways, and signed books.

Elizabeth Craig, Author of the Southern Quilting Series

“Lost luggage has never been this fun! With well-drawn characters, Other People’s Baggage is your first class ticket to three fast-paced adventures full of mystery, murder, and magic.”
